United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has called for Africa's version of the 'Marshall Plan'. The report by Messrs. Richard Kozul-Wright titled 'Doubling Aid:Making the 'Big Push' Work' casts light into what has been camapigned for by, among others, yours truly. The Kenya Private Sector Foundation Executive, Messrs. John Maliti, who has been at the forefront of the debate, like yours truly, must be smiling from ear to ear in satisfaction. Someone must have been listening...and reading. The prescriptive nature of Bretton Woods policies also became a point of focus. UK's Development Secretary Hillary Ben also highlighted the same a few weeks ago.

Mr. Boniface Achieng' Nyambega, the Kenyan Chef who has cooked for the British Royals, and whose story (by yours truly) first appeared exclusively on TIG's Panorama Magazine (see www.takingitglobal.org/express/panorama/article.html?ContentID=7111) was interviewed on the Nairobi-based East and Central Africa's leading media house Nation TV (NTV) on the 25th of September 2006 at 7.00 pm East African Time (EAT) on the 'Enzi Zao' programme, which highlights the contributions of notable Kenyans throughout the country's history. War Lord Joseph Kony is being cornered finally. It always beats me as to why a promising person like that would lunge headlong into a pointless, priceless and directionless war. Hopefully, Nothern Ugandans will now experience peace, which they were robbed of by one of their own pursuing pedestrian, run-of-mill agenda.

The G8 Summit is a clear admission of the need for participatory development approaches from World Bank and IMF policies in Africa and the Third World. Its a light into the scarcity of participatory policy frameworks.
