G8 Summit echoed the need for participatory development approaches

The G8 Summit is a clear admission of the need for participatory development approaches from World Bank and IMF policies in Africa and the Third World. Its a light into the scarcity of participatory policy frameworks.

I disagree
The G8 summit is an annual event where 8 of the most powerful countries in the world take a step back and look at the state of the world. It is thanks to Tony Blair's commitment to Africa (whether for benign reasons or simply for his own ego) that this summit has such a focus on Africa.

See
What I meant was the prescriptive nature of the policies and not the policies wholesale. I acknowledge the assistance of the Bretton Woods to build capacities for Third World and Africa's development. However, this should involve local participations. The start of of this via the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers is a viable example of System Wide and Participatory Research Application. Similarly I was refering specifically to the 2005 Summit and not any other.
